roz. 1994 sorgte die Dave Matthews Band mit ihrer Single „What Would You Say“ bei Kritikern und Publikum für Aufsehen. Nicht ohne Grund. Scheinbar mühelos vermengt das Quartett eine erfrischende Mischung aus Folk- und Jazz-Elementen zu einem betörend flüssigen Akustik-Pop. Der interessante Instrumentenmix aus Saxophon, Flöte und Violine auf der einen Seite und akustischen Gitarren, Bässen und Piano auf der anderen ist genauso bestechend wie die hypnotische Stimme von Dave Matthews. Das zweite Album kommt zudem unglaublich kraftvoll und satt daher. Die Dave Matthews Band tönt hier noch mehr nach Dave Matthews Band.
