Verflucht gute Musik |
roz. Prince, The Artist Formerly Known As Prince oder eben Symbol. Das Theater, das Prince in der Folge eines Streits mit der Plattenfirma aufführte, kann man nun cool oder doof finden. Fest steht, dass der Mann verflucht gute Musik macht. Nicht ausnahmslos alles was er produziert hat, aber "The Gold Experience" zum Beispiel. Gitarre spielen kann er nämlich auch, der Prince. Und das tut er auf "Gold Experience", nachdem er sich für mehrere Alben eher an Pop und R & B orientierte, endlich wieder mal richtig. Neben groovigem Funk, melodiösem Pop und souligem Jazz ist hier auch harter Rock zu hören und somit die ganze Stilpalette abgedeckt. Der Sound ist fett orchestriert, die Breaks sind gnadenlos und die Spielfreude der Band kommt ganz ans Livefeeling heran. Die Songs sind auf "The Gold Experience" sind wieder mal durchs Band Klasse. Kein Füllmaterial wie auf "Emancipation" oder dergleichen.
